Studio Session with Balis Beats

15 Sep 2010 / 1 Comment / in Uncategorized/by Govea

Where to start?!?

The past weekend I traveled down to Miami to work with the incredible producer that goes by the name of Balis Beats. Some of you may recognize the name from one of his many hits including Shawty Lo’s “Dey know”, off his debut album Units of the City.

Now that you know a little about him, lets get to the session.

First off…session was crazy! After meeting Balistic for the first time we vibed like we been doing it for a while. Me and fellow Liner Entertainment Group Artist, Ms. Kima, booked two days in the studio and came out with hit singles that are going to blow up the radio in the near future.

The session started out going through Balis’s archive’s of beats until I found the right one that fit. After I had the beat chosen then I just went straight into my zone and started to write the verses.

After that I just got in the booth and did what I always do. The versus came out real nice and flow great on the beat.

The hook on the other hand took us a little time to get together. But after a few tries, Balistic called up fellow artist, Sir Chad, and we got to business. After a quick vibe, and a few word changes, we had ourselves a hook.

The power and intensity of the whole track, as well as the experience was enough to make me have to stand back and make sure that this whole experience was real.

I did document the time that I spent making the track, which was about a two day process. Below is the video of the time that we had there. The background music is a clip from the track that I worked on as well. The title of the track is called “Take Over” and is produced by Balis Beats aka Balistic Beats.

More tracks are going to be coming from me and Balistic, so be on the look out for new updates. Also be sure to subscribe to the youtube channel and follow me on twitter to stay updated.

Thank you all for the continued support, if it wasn’t for you all then there would be no reason for me to continue this journey.

So here’s to you!!
